What Are Community Events?

Community events are different from events hosted by your organization. They are events hosted by your members or the general public and display in a calendar on your website.

Community events are designed to be a promotional method, but also:

  • Do not capture any registrations or payments

  • The host can enter in a registration URL to redirect anyone interested in participating

  • Can be a members-only feature so it requires login in order to submit and add events

  • Can require approval by your team before it gets published

  • Encourages visitors to rely on your website to stay connected within the network and community!

Member Submits Event Information

The member will be required to submit information about their event before it gets added:

  • Event Name
  • Event Description with formatting tools
  • Event Begin Date & Time
  • Event End Date & Time
  • Event Timezone
  • Location of Event (i.e. Hotel Name)
  • Event Address
  • Website Link to Register
  • Contact Name, Email & Phone

Email Notification to You

An email is sent to the Membee user with the full details of the community event submission.

A link is included that opens the event directly for approval!

Approving & Rejecting the Event

The Actions button provides a quick way to:

  • Edit the event before it is approved
  • Accept the event and it will immediately appear in the calendar
  • Reject the event, which will delete the event data
  • View event to preview it on your website
  • Archive the event

A Hive Hint:

After you approve or reject a community event, an email is sent to the member to inform them of the result.

You can configure the email messaging for the approval email and the rejection email!
