PayPal Vault can use Membee’s Card Vault, which opens up the ability to:

  • Securely allows members to store their credit card

  • Members can automatically charge their renewal to their stored credit card

  • Pay for event registrations in one click with the stored card

What’s the Difference Between PayPal Express & PayPal Vault?

Existing organizations that use PayPal Express will need to move to PayPal Vault manually. PayPal Vault features are not available with PayPal Express.

PayPal Express

  • Deprecated Technology: Continues to work and is secure. Membee’s support for PayPal Express will end soon

  • Security: As technology progresses and outdated technology continues to be used, potential security risks could arise
  • Membee’s Card Vault: Not available. Members cannot store their credit card for automated renewals or one-click event checkout
  • Manual Refunds: Refunds cannot be processed directly from Membee. Manual refunds must be created in Membee and processed within PayPal, risking human error
  • Redirected to PayPal Payment Page: Members would be directed away from your site to a PayPal page to pay with a credit card or a PayPal account
  • Member PayPal Account Confusion: Members often confuse the PayPal payment page with the need to create or use a PayPal account to pay.

  • Security: Continually improved to maintain the highest security threshold and standards in the industry

Already Using PayPal Express?

We strongly recommend that organizations using PayPal Express upgrade to PayPal Vaults!

  • Use the same existing PayPal Business account

  • No costs to upgrade

  • You don’t need to resubmit business documents for verification

  • Financial history remains accessible in the same PayPal Business account

Already Using Braintree (a division of PayPal)?

  • Set up a new PayPal Business account or use an existing one

  • Review transaction fees as you migrate from Braintree to PayPal Vaults
